Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered first Phones Will Be Realme GT 2 Pro, Xiaomi 12, and Moto Edge X30

It has been confirmed that the Realme GT 2 Pro, Xiaomi 12, and Moto Edge X30 are the first devices to feature Qualcomm’s newly launched Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Motorola has announced that the Moto Edge X30 will go on sale on December 9, while Realme and Xiaomi have yet to reveal the exact dates of their new flagships. According to rumors, the next Motorola phone will have up to 512GB of internal storage and a 144Hz OLED display.

Realme announced at the Snapdragon Tech Summit 2021 on Wednesday that it will be launching the Realme GT 2 Pro with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. A few months ago, the Chinese company said, it began working on its new flagship.

Qualcomm Technologies and Realme have collaborated on the Realme GT 2 Pro to create an unrivaled 5G experience across all aspects, including gaming, photography, and the 5G network,” said Madhav Sheth, CEO of Realme India, President of Realme International Business Group, and Vice President of Realme.

However, the Realme GT 2 Pro’s official specifications have not yet been released, but it has been claimed that the phone’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC will deliver a new level of user experience in terms of gaming, artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, and 5G.

According to rumors, the Realme GT 2 Pro will have a 120Hz display and up to 512GB of internal storage. According to a report, the device is expected to cost around $799 (roughly NPR. 96,000) when it is released in India in the first quarter of 2019.

Realme GT 2 Pro’s design was hinted at in some images showing a horizontal camera bar on the back. A GR Lens was also shown in the renders to reduce the ghosting effect of the dual rear-facing cameras.

That’s not all, Qualcomm announced that its Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC will be included in Xiaomi’s first flagship, the Xiaomi 12. The phone may be bundled with the Xiaomi 12X and both devices may be able to run the company’s upcoming MIUI 13 operating system out of the box.

It is rumored to have a primary camera with a resolution of 50 megapixels.

On Twitter, Xiaomi posted a video teaser confirming the beginning of mass production of the Xiaomi 12 series with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

The Xiaomi 12 series is expected to be unveiled on December 12th, even though the exact date and other details is yet to be released. We can safely assume that Xiaomi will begin releasing teasers for the Xiaomi 12 series in the coming days to give us a hint at its hardware.

Moto Edge X30

Like Realme and Xiaomi, Motorola has confirmed that the Moto Edge X30 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC as well. According to a Weibo teaser posted by the Lenovo-owned company, it will be launched in China at 7:30pm CST Asia (5:15 pm NST) on December 9th.

Lenovo’s CEO teased the Moto Edge X30 recently on Weibo. There will be Corning Gorilla Glass on both its front and back sides, and it will be the first phone to run MyUI 3.0, based on Android, according to the executive.

Motorola may rename the Moto Edge X30 to the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra when it launches in global markets. Last month, the model number XT2201-2 of a Moto Edge X30 variant was reportedly discovered on China’s TENAA.

According to a Qualcomm press release announcing the launch of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered Realme and Xiaomi smartphones by the end of 2019, other companies such as Black Shark and Honor are working on bringing their flagships to market with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 by the end of 2019.

A 20% increase in CPU performance and a 30% reduction in power consumption are claimed for the new Snapdragon chip. There are claims that it will deliver four times faster AI performance with Qualcomm’s 7th Gen AI Engine.
