KMC plans to construct an amphitheatre in the capital city

In the coming fiscal year, the Kathmandu metropolitan city (KMC) plans to construct an amphitheatre in the capital city.

Mayor Balen Shah said on Sunday during the presentation of the policy and program for the fiscal year 2022/23 that the Kathmandu metropolitan city will build an amphitheatre shortly .

“Dabalis (platforms) in the Kathmandu metropolitan region will be restored and an amphitheatre will be built to encourage the art sector,” Shah stated.

The paper further outlines that the city government will take steps to maintain and conserve areas like as Pashupati, Bouddhanath, Swayambhunath, and Basantapur Durbar Square, which are all World Heritage sites.

Mayor Shah also stated that the city will concentrate on documenting Kathmandu’s cultural events, such as festivals, rituals, lifestyle, fairs, and more, in order to create a detailed cultural profile of the metropolitan city.
