Strong, robust, and long-distance capable, the Indian-made Okinawa brand electric scooter has already earned it’s fame in the indian subcontinent. The official distributor for Nepal, Bikki Enterprises, has been importing and selling these scooters with a variety of features that can be used in both the hilly and terai regions.
There are three models of scooters on display in Kathmandu’s showroom, including the i-Praise +, Praise Pro, Ridge Plus, R30 and Lite.
While the i-Praise Plus scooter is considered a premium model by the manufacturer, the other two models are categorized as “average.”
The Okinawa brand of scooters comes with 3-year warranty and equally on battery or up to 30,000 kilometers range.

The i-Praise +, the company’s premium model, has a 1,000-watt motor. On a single full charge, the scooter can travel 160 kilometers (100 miles). In a turbo mode, the scooter can reach a top speed of around 75 kilometers per hour. All four wheels are equipped with disc brakes.
There is also an electronic braking system in the Plus version of the i-Praise model. With a ground clearance of 175 mm, the scooter has hydraulic telescopic front and double shock suspension.
Anti-theft alarm with central locking, keyless entry, find my scooter function, mobile charging USB port, motor walking assistance, immobilization, secure parking, tracking and monitoring, maintenance and insurance, insurance log are included in this scooter’s features. The Praise Pro electric scooter on the other hand has a 1,000 watt motor and a lithium ion battery pack of 2 kWh. At single fullcharge this scooter can travel for up to 110 kilometers.
The i-Praise Pro model, like the i-Praise + model, has an eco, sport, and turbo mode. This scooter has a top speed of 70 kilometers per hour in turbo mode. i-Praise Pro’s suspension and brakes are identical to those of i-Praise Plus.

You get the Okinawa Lite with a 250 Watt BLDC electric motor that’s waterproof. It’s run by a 40 V, 1.25 KWH Lithium-ion battery that has a security feature. On a full charge, the electric scooter can travel upto 50 to 60 km.
It will take about 4 to 5 hours to fully charge the scooter. Also, the scooter comes with aluminum alloy wheels with E-ABS and regenerative braking feature. The front forks are telescopic and the rear shocks are twin tube spring type hydraulic.
The new Okinawa Lite electric scooter also has a hazard function, a built-in footrest for the passenger, and an LED speedometer. The e-scooter has LED headlights, LED winkers, stylish LED tail lights, an automatic electronic handle, a self-start button, and a Rectangular Type Front Suspension with a Steel frame body. The Okinawa R30 falls in the budget segment of scooters manufactured by the company. The scooter is priced cheap as it features low powered motor which also gives only a top speed of 25 kmph and a range of around 60 kms in one full charge.
It features the same motor as the Okinawa Lite scooter and also shares much of the specification in this price segment. The R30 has a 250 watt of BLDC motor with 1.25 KWH Lithium-ion battery. With a household power socket it can be charged in around 4-5 hours.
With the addition of a digital speedometer and an electronically assisted braking system, the Okinawa R30 also has regenerative braking system. A micro-charger with an automatic cut-off feature is also included.
On the R30, you’ll see a conventional design for an electric scooter. There are indicators on the handlebars and a light on the front apron. The scooter has a large seat and can carry a weight of up to 150 kilograms (240 pounds). In addition, the seat height is a low 735 mm. The scooter’s battery is covered for three years by Okinawa. For the 250-watt brushless DC motor, the manufacturer offers a 3-year/30,000-kilometer warranty.
Front forks are telescopic, while the rear is equipped with double shock absorbers using dual-tube technology. The electric scooter comes in Metallic Orange, Glossy Red, Pearl White, Sea Green, and Sunrise Yellow.
