Yamaha R15 Special Edition model out now

Yamaha has launched special edition of its popular bike R15 giving it a special facelift. Morang Auto Works (MAW), the authorized distributor for Yamaha two-wheelers in Nepal, has launched this special limited edition of R15 2010 model in combination of red and white shade in Nepal.

According to MAW, R15´s special edition is packed with state-of-the-art technologies, it boasts performance worthy of a super sport model and has a body design that evokes the image of the YZF-R series and gives visual expression to the quality of its ride. Derived from the legendary R1, R15 exemplifies the Moto GP technology, MAW said in a statement.

“This special edition bike introduced a week ago targets the bike enthusiasts and hands on the rider with the feel of racing and Moto GP technology,” says Pranavesh J Pradhan, chief manager- corporate marketing at MAW.

R15 Special Edition´s design is based on having an excellent engine cooling method. The shape of the cowling around the radiator area is designed so that the shapes of the air intake area and the rear outlet area where the air is scooped out are optimized to improve radiator efficiency. As for the outlet area, the mid-cowl area is designed using sculpturing 3D methods to create a three dimensional shape with a sense of volume.

When viewed from the front, Yamaha R15 Special Edition gives a sense of volume that seems well beyond its 150cc displacement. With all these features the R15 is not just voluminous, but also transforms function into art.

“Yamaha has however remained faithful with the engine, body and system of the bike”, said Pradhan. “Adorned with new graphics, the unique white colored R15 has full black covered engine, shiny complete white wheel rim and silver silencer.”

R15 Special Edition has Nepal´s first 150cc 4-valve engine with forged pistons, Deltabox frame and 6 speed gear box. Its overall length is 1995mm, overall width is 670mm and its height is just 1070mm. The bike´s wheels base is 1290mm. This special edition bikes have tubeless tires.

With only 44 units of R15 Special Edition to be sold across the country, this bike is sure to standout everywhere it goes. The company has decided to sell the bike priced Rs 269,900 on a first come, first served basis.
