Tata Motors to launch Nexon AMT at NADA Auto Show
Sipradi, the authorised distributor of Tata Motors in Nepal, will be launching Tata Nexon AMT (Automatic Manual Transmission) at the NADA Auto Show 2018.
Tata has launched the mid-spec, AMT-equipped Nexon – depending on whether you want the petrol engine or the diesel motor under the hood.
The six-speed automated manual transmission and the 110hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-diesel powertrains remain unchanged. As with the top-spec trim, the AMT gearbox features a manual mode and a crawl function.

Tata now offers an optional new white contrast finish for the roof. In terms of equipment, the rest of the kit is the same as the manual XM trim and includes dual frontal airbags, ABS with EBD, wheel covers for the steel wheels, an infotainment system by Harman with USB, Aux and Bluetooth connectivity, four speakers, steering-mounted audio controls, rear parking sensors, follow-me-home headlamps, all four power windows, central locking and power-adjustable outside rear-view mirrors.
Unlike its manual counterpart, the XMA variant also gets 60:40-split folding seats, although it misses out on some kit; like projector headlamps, daytime running lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, an automatic climate control system, the Harman-sourced touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto compatibility and the rear wash, wiper and defogger – all of which are available on the top-spec XZA+ variant.
According to the company, Tata Nexon features 209mm ground clearance, three driving mode options, smart key and an engine that produces 110ps and 260mm of torque. The price of the Tata Nexon is estimated to cost Rs4.5 million to Rs4.8 million.
The company will also be showcasing their Tata Tigor electric vehicle at the exhibition.
The Tigor EV is a full electric, zero emission styleback and will be built on the existing passenger vehicles portfolio of Tata Motors. Specific to the EESL order, the Tigor EV will be delivered in three trim variants – Base, Premium and High and will be available in ‘Pearlescent White’ colour with blue decals. Over the basic requirements of the tender, the Tigor EV, across the variants, would have FATC (Fully Automatic AC) to provide maximum comfort to its occupants.
Equipped with a single speed, automatic transmission, the electric drive systems for the Tigor EV is developed and supplied by Electra EV, which develops and supplies electric drive systems for the automotive sector.
