The Motorola X40 is officially available for purchase in China as of today. It’s the follow-up to last year’s Moto X30, and it’s finally here.

The most recent release features state-of-the-art hardware and software. Some of the smartphone’s capabilities were hinted at in the lead-up to today’s release.

The Moto X40 competes with other new smartphones including the Xiaomi 13, iQOO 11, and Vivo X90. Find out in this article what features are available right out of the box with this gadget.

The Motorola Moto X40 has a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD Plus resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. The cutout for the camera is centered, and the edges are rounded.

There’s a fingerprint scanner built into the screen with support for HDR and 10-bit colors.

The Moto X40 includes a tiny rectangular camera module. Dust and water are no match for its IP68 rating. It comes with Dolby Atmos-tuned stereo speakers for music lovers.

The Moto X40 has three cameras in the back, making it an ideal camera phone.

The system consists of a 50MP primary sensor with OIS capability, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 12MP telephoto unit. Selfies may be taken with the 60MP front-facing camera.

The smartphone can record in 4K HDR and has a horizontal lock for use during action photography.

The Moto X40 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU under the hood. It supports memory sizes of up to 16GB (LPDDR5x) and file sizes of up to 512GB (UFS 4.0).

This device has a liquid cooling system that works in all three dimensions.

The smartphone has a 4,600mAh battery that can be charged using a 125W conventional charger or a 15W wireless charger. The device’s software is Android 13 OS with MY UI 5.0 layered on top.

The Moto X40 features twin SIM card slots, 5G network speed, WiF 6E wireless, Bluetooth 5.3, dual-frequency GPS, Near Field Communication (NFC), and a USB Type-C port.

Motorola Moto X40 Price and Availability

The Moto X40 comes in both Smoky Black and Tourmarine Blue.

The base 8GB + 128GB configuration of the phone costs CNY 3,399 ($487). There is an CNY 3,699 ($530) model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and an CNY 3,999 ($573) variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The higher-end 12GB + 512GB option costs CNY 4,299 ($617).
