The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) is planning to unveil special travel packages targeting Indian tourists.

According to the NTB, it will be joining hands with Nepal Airlines to create tour packages like Pashupati Darshan and others designed specifically for visitors from the southern neighbour.

India has traditionally been Nepal’s largest source market, however, due to lack of promotional activities, arrivals have been on a declining trend for the last few years.

“We have been inactive in promoting Nepal in such a key market,” said Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of NTB.

“However, we have planned to promote Nepal in India in an aggressive manner from now onwards.”

Inbound from India dived 44.49 percent to a 13-year low of 75,124 individuals in 2015. Despite the sharp fall, India remains the largest tourist sending country to Nepal.
