Tata Motors on Friday launched its sporty hatchback — Bolt — in the Nepali market.Officials of Tata Motors and Sipradi Trading — Tata Motor’s authorized distributor in Nepal, jointly launched the new car from Tata stable.
The Bolt is available in both petrol and diesel versions with starting price from Rs 2.39 million. According to the company, Bolt is the latest car under Tata’s HorizoNext umbrella and offers many segment-defining features for design, drivability and connectivity.
Speaking at the launching program, Sujan Roy, regional head of Tata for Passenger Vehicles Business Unit in South Asia, said: “With the aim to deliver the best to our customers, we at Tata Motors are delighted to launch the much-awaited Bolt.
We expect Bolt to strengthen our presence in the hatchback market in Nepal.”Likewise, Shambhu Dahal, CEO of Sipradi Trading, said that the Bolt offers the latest technology in automotive engineering. “We are proud to bring this feature-rich and fuel-efficient car in Nepal. We are confident that the combination of a perfect product with best-in-the country service and parts back-up will firmly establish the Bolt in Nepal,” added Dahal.
According to Tata Motors, the Bolt comes with segment-first DriveNext features incorporated both in diesel and petrol variant.
In the petrol variant, Bolt will be the segment’s first hatchback to be powered by India’s first 1.2L Turbocharged Multi-point Fuel Injection (MPFi) Petrol Engine, REVOTRON 1.2T, with best-in-class maximum power of 90PS at 5,000 rpm and peak torque of 140 Nm at 1500-4000 rpm. Likewise, the diesel variant comes with a powerful Quadrajet 1.3L engine, delivering power of 75PS at 4,000 rpm and torque of 190 Nm from 1,750 to 3,000 rpm.
Other features of the hatchback includes Corner Stability Control (CSC), dual airbags, segment superior space and comfort, connect-next touch screen infotainment by Harman, flame shaped rear tail lamps, 3-spoke steering wheel with ergonomic groove, and driver-centric cockpit among others.Bolt is being offered with a warranty of four years or 75,000 kilometer.
