A memory leak in the file manager, detected in the Windows 11 Insider Preview a few months ago, made it into the final edition launched few days ago.
According to the source, a memory leak problem was discovered in the Explorer or File Manager in the final version of Windows 11, which was released earlier this week.
When the PC can’t free up cached space, it causes a memory leak in Windows. In other words, even after exiting the program that utilized RAM, it does not free up RAM. As a result, RAM overflows occur, causing your computer to become sluggish or even freeze in rare circumstances. A memory leak in the file manager, which was found in the Windows 11 Insider Preview a few months ago, made it into the final build.
To fix this, simply go to Task Manager and order the processes by maximum RAM usage, then activate File Explorer (Win + E) to reproduce the situation. The file manager will swiftly come to the top of the list after that. Because the firm has not yet formally acknowledged the problem, it is unclear whether a patch is in the works. The cache can be manually cleared by restarting the Windows Explorer process.
If this memory leak problem is not rectified, users of systems with limited RAM and who infrequently restart their PCs may suffer major problems.
