100-day countdown for Nepal Tourism Year 2011

The Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation along with Nepal Tourism Board is all set to start a 100-day countdown for Nepal Tourism Year 2011.

According to Dhurba Narayan Shrestha, member of NTY 2011 Working Committee, a meeting today at the ministry has decided to organise programmes to mark the 100 days countdown, starting from October 7.

“We have also decided to have a toll-free number to help the tourists,” he said, adding that the NTY 2011 Committee will soon set up a transport office at Bhairahawa.

Bhairahawa, Birgunj, Kakarbhitta, Mahendranagar, and Nepalgunj have been recognised as five points at the border areas that will provide single-window system for tourists during NTY 2011. “Bhairahawa, Birgunj, Kakarbhitta, Mahendranagar, and Nepalgunj are the key entry points for tourists coming by land,” he said. “Transport Secretary has agreed to appoint a transport officer each in the five cities,” Shrestha added. The transport offices will have a single-window facilitation system for tourists for Immigration, Customs and Transport facilities at the same point.
