Google Pixel Watch official launch date leaked by tipster

Google Pixel Watch

The long-awaited Google Pixel Watch is anticipated to be introduced this year, so this may not be such a big deal.

The 3d renderings of the watch’s circular dial and marketing slides of the device were revealed last month. However, the watch was originally expected to be introduced alongside the Pixel 6 smartphones, according to tipster Jon Prosser. When asked about the delay, he indicated that Google has pushed it further out to the end of March.

It is expected that the Google Pixel Watch will be launched at Google I/O, says Prosser.

To clarify things further for us, he claims that the Pixel Watch will be made official on Thursday, May 26. This is the first “fixed date on the device behind the scenes,” according to Prosser. It is possible that the announcement will be made during the Google I/O developer conference.

Using the Pixel Watch to test out Wear OS features would not be out of the question for Google, as it has done for Android on the Pixel phones. A round display with 2.5D glass and not-too-large bezels is shown in both marketing pictures and renders for the watch, which is still under development. On the right side of the watch, there is a crown.

A watch face with a heart rate reading is shown in one of the images, but we don’t know what health-related features the phone will include. Android 12’s Material You design looks to have been used to create the colorful display.

Google has regained its confidence in Wear OS.

Last year, when the Pixel 4 series was expected to battle the likes of Apple and Samsung with its feature-rich range, a last-minute rumor claimed Google’s smartwatch would make a debut at the company’s Made by Google event. However, the watch never arrived, and Google’s lack of confidence in Watch OS was cited as one reason for this regrettable turn of events.

By purchasing Fitbit for $2.1 billion, Google’s parent company Alphabet hopes to upgrade the Wear OS operating system. By working together on Wear OS at Google I/O last year, Samsung and Google shocked many by making apps launch and run faster while increasing battery life of Samsung’s smartwatches.

Samsung and Google collaborated to combine the greatest aspects of their own operating systems, Tizen from Samsung and Wear OS from Google. In a tweet dated May 18th, Google stated: “@wearosbyGoogle and @SamsungMobile Tizen are being combined into a single wearable platform for the first time. In the future, you can expect faster app startup times, greater battery life, and more customization options across devices, applications, and watch faces. #GoogleIO.”

The Pixel line’s ecosystem, which already includes the Pixel phones, Pixel Buds True Wireless Earbuds, and now the Google Pixel Watch, may be expanding even further with the arrival of the Pixel Watch.
