The German brand Volkswagen has launched the brands’ much-awaited SUVW model Taigun at the heart of the festive season in Nepali market.

The Taigun is a bold, dynamic and German engineered SUVW that perfectly matches the requirements of an Indian sub-continent customer.

The Volkswagen Taigun exudes character and charisma with its striking exteriors, premium interiors, modern and convenient infotainment systems. The Taigun is spacious and keeps the occupants and those outside the vehicle safe and secure.

Powered by the globally renowned Volkswagen TSI engine, the Taigun offers exhilarating performance and power while being highly efficient.

Volkswagen Taigun Nepal

Built on the MQB A0 IN platform, the first Taigun has been rolled out from the Chakan plant in Pune.

The first product from Volkswagen under the India 2.0 project, the Taigun retains the brand’s DNA of superior build quality, safety and a fun-to-drive experience.

The bold, dynamic and German engineered SUVW, Volkswagen Taigun exudes character and confidence. It boasts of a charismatic design language, with striking exteriors, premium interiors, digital cockpit, modern and convenient infotainment systems.

The carline boasts of a charismatic design language with striking exteriors, premium interiors including a digital cockpit, and 40+ inbuilt safety features. The Taigun retains the brands’ core DNA of superior built quality, safety and a fun-to-drive experience.

It is powered by Volkswagen globally renowned TSI technology and will be available with two engine options: 1.5L TSI mated to 7-speed DSG and 6-speed manual gearbox and 1.0L TSI engine mated to a 6-speed automatic and manual gearbox.

The striking front end highlights the vehicle’s family affiliation, while emphasizing individuality with the generous chrome applique on the front grille. The new Volkswagen logo sits perfectly between the grille and is one of the first locally manufactured products in India to carry the new logo.

Volkswagen Taigun Rear View

The LED matrix (headlamps with daytime running lights) greet even before the drive starts. They can be individually switched off and dimmed. They are intelligently controlled and can illuminate the road as brightly as possible without dazzling the other road users. Providing a higher stance and on-road presence, the R17 dual tone alloy wheels contribute to the striking appearance of the Taigun.

Anyone who takes a seat in the all-new Volkswagen Taigun will enjoy superior visibility due to the elevated seating position – typical of an SUV. The good all-round visibility also engenders a feeling of safety and confidence in the Taigun occupants. The long wheelbase of 2651mm makes the interiors extremely roomy and spacious. The flattened tunnel at the rear bench of the Taigun makes the seating position comfortable for the middle occupant.

Volkswagen Taigun Dashboard

The Taigun has a modern dashboard layout with décor inserts, smart storage spaces for the young and active consumer, ambient lighting and ventilated leather front seats making the driver and occupant at ease. Adding an element of modernity to the Taigun interior is the digital cockpit and automatic air-conditioning with touch control. The 25.4 cm touchscreen Infotainment comes embedded with Apple CarplayTM and Android AutoTM, enabling customers to be connected and entertained. An inductive charging interface (Type C, USB charging ports) will ensure sufficient power for smartphones. The multi-function leather sport steering wheel and electric sunroof further accentuate the Taigun interiors.

Dynamic and efficient powertrain
High performance, low fuel consumption and driving pleasure are the main characteristics of the Taigun powertrain. The all-new Taigun will be powered by Volkswagen globally renowned TSI technology. The two engine options available on the Taigun will be 1.0L and 1.5L TSI with a combination of three transmission options for customers to choose.

Safety a top priority
The Taigun comes with a full range of safety features. It will be equipped with up to 6 airbags, ESC, 3 headrests at rear, 3-point seat belts, ISOFIX and adjustable headrest for all. The Taigun boasts excellent driver and occupants’ protection system with up to 6 airbags and Electronic stability control. SUV also includes the rear park distance control, hill-hold control and tyre pressure deflation warning system.

Volkswagen Taigun Price in Nepal

Pooja International, the official dealer of Volkswagen in Nepal, unveiled the new SUV Taigun on Sunday amid a programme held in Soaltee Hotel in Kathmandu int he presence of German Ambassador Dr. Thomas Pinz.

The company has set a starting price of VW Taigun base model at Rs 59 lakh for the limited period. Available in three variants, the Taigun Highline is priced at Rs 63.9 Lakh and the Taigun Topline at Rs 69 Lakh.

The VW Taigun will go up against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster, and the Skoda Kushaq.
